Some women are born with one or both nipples inverted, meaning the nipple faces inward instead of outward. There are generally considered to be three levels of nipple inversion. In the least severe, while the nipple or nipples may be inverted, they are easily coaxed out and can stay out for some time before inverting again. In the mid-level, the nipple or nipples may take longer, or be more difficult to coax out, but can be coaxed out with stimulation before immediately inverting again. The last, most severe level includes the nipple or nipples which are always inverted, even with stimulation. It is possible to have two inverted nipples at different levels.
Inverted Nipple Repair is a procedure to reverse the inverted nipple. While having inverted nipples is not a medical concern, many women feel self-conscious about their inverted nipples, particularly in intimate situations.
