Nipple Reduction in San Diego
Nipple reduction procedures are commonly performed to decrease either the size or projection resulting from having large nipples. These procedures are typically performed as minor procedures in an office-based setting and take between 30 and 45 minutes. Depending upon the underlying problem, most nipple reduction procedures are performed using a combination of wedge excisions associated with small flaps.
Good candidates for this procedure include women that have completed breast feeding or do not desire to breast feed should they become pregnant. Most commonly, patients undergo nipple reduction surgery because of very large and visible nipples that can be a source of embarrassment.
Recovery from these procedures is typically approximately 2 weeks before returning to moderate exercise and up to 6 weeks or more before complete resolution of swelling associated with the surgery.
