33 year old female patient from San Diego was referred to Dr. Mofid by her primary physician for breast reconstruction. The patient was a candidate for a free DIEP flap reconstruction. During the first stage of reconstruction, a left breast was developed by using the excess skin & tissue from her abdomen. At the second stage of surgery, the reconstructed breast is tailored to have a better shape and appearance. The final stage to complete the reconstruction, a left nipple areola complex is reconstructed using a skate flap and donor full thickness skin graft from her left inner thigh. The patient also had a right breast augmentation with silicone implant for symmetry during the last surgery.
