Rhinoplasty Procedure

Based on the patient’s goals for surgery, Dr. Mark Mofid, who performs Rhinoplasty in San Diego, will choose whether to conduct an open rhinoplasty or a closed rhinoplasty. In an open rhinoplasty, an incision is made on the underside of the nose. Dr. Mofid shapes the bone and cartilage until the desired result is achieved and then closes the incisions. A closed rhinoplasty provides Dr. Mofid with less access, but the incisions for this type of nose surgery are hidden within the nostrils. Depending on each patient’s needs, Dr. Mofid will determine which type of rhinoplasty will produce the most natural-looking results.
