Dr. Mark Mofid, MD FACS
Dr. Mark Mofid is a board-certified San Diego and La Jolla area plastic surgeon, certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Mofid received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Harvard University. He completed his medical degree, training in general surgery and plastic surgery and an advanced craniofacial research fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Mofid is currently a staff surgeon at several hospitals in the San Diego and La Jolla area, including Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, and Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
Dr. Mofid is a clinical faculty member of the University of California, San Diego’s Division of Plastic Surgery. His publications on breast and facial surgery have been featured in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a journal recognized by surgeons nationwide. Dr. Mofid has presented at numerous medical conferences both in the United States and internationally.
Dr. Mofid is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Besides working in San Diego and La Jolla as a plastic surgeon, he is dedicated to providing patients with reconstructive surgery, including facial reconstruction following skin cancer removal, post-trauma facial injury repair, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, and microsurgery.
Setara Moosa, Practice Manager and Cosmetic Coordinator
With more than 15 years of experience as a cosmetic coordinator, Setara is among the most experienced in her field. In addition to her gentle approach with patients and thorough knowledge of plastic surgery procedures, she is known for her command of patient imaging techniques that assist with the planning of surgery. She received her bachelor’s degree in administration from San Diego State University in 1997.
Krystina Robinson, RN BSN Laser Nurse
Krystina is a Southern California native. She attained her BSN from Loma Linda University School of Nursing. Her passion is aesthetics and the field of cosmetic surgery. She has always been very intrigued by the many different aspects of modern medicine with an artistic approach, aesthetic detail and the rewarding benefits. She has found her niche in aesthetic nursing as well as the operating and recovery room. Her compassionate and pleasant personality helps her to provide excellent care to all of her patients. She enjoys outdoor activities, such as camping, bicycling and hiking, with her husband and two children.
Karen Blaha, Operating Room Technician
Karen was born and raised in Northern California. She graduated from UC Davis in 2006 with a B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. She found her true passion in the medical field as a Certified Surgical Technologist, working in various hospitals and private practices. She has a broad range of surgical experience ranging from orthopedic to plastic surgery. As a surgical technician, she assists Dr. Mofid as principle scrub with all of his cosmetic surgeries such as breast augmentations, body lifts, rhinoplasty, etc. Her calm demeanor and eye for detail makes her a valuable member to the practice. She enjoys dancing, equestrian horseback riding, and Disneyland.
Kathie Zamora, Administrative Assistant
Kathie, a native of Southern California, is known for her polite demeanor, organizational skills and diligence. She attended California State University, San Marcos where she received a degree in Communications. Kathie was named Miss Costa Rica of Southern California, was a cheerleader in high school and is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time Kathie enjoys fitness, traveling and reading.
Kim Moshtaghi, Administrative Assistant
With more than six years of experience in the cosmetic and fashion industry, Kim is known for her enthusiasm and verve. As a contributing writer and Director of Sales and Promotions for Adventures in the Stiletto Jungle, a fashion blog, Kim gives great advice to the fashionably challenged. Born in Germany, Kim moved to sunny California when she was eight years old. She obtained her degree in Communications and minor in Business Administration from the University San Diego. Kim is a fourth degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and loves to teach and train in her spare time.
Lindsay Wallstrum, Administrative Assistant
A native of the San Francisco bay area, Lindsay attended Sonoma State University. She has several years of experience in visual merchandising and luxury hotel customer service. She volunteers in her spare time for beach clean ups, is known for her passion for the environment and can often be found with her husband and two dogs at Sunset Cliffs.
